The dining table is one of the most used pieces of furniture in our homes. It's not just where you eat, but also a space where we set up our computer to work, do homework and so much more.
Just like our bedroom and living room, we tend to fill our dining tables with things that shouldn’t be there in the first place. We may not be always aware of it, but, don’t you know that there are plenty of things that you should never put on top of our dining room tables? Below are listed some things that you should put back to where they belong, or better yet-get rid of them.
A plant may look good and refreshing on top of our dining table. A little bit of nature may not seem to be bad at all. But, the truth is, we only attract insects such as mosquitoes and flies which could potentially harm us. So it is really a bad idea to keep these indoors. Instead, let’s just put the plants outside on our garden where they truly belong.
Uncovered and Uncooked food
Just like plants, exposed and uncooked food, such as meat, is very attractive to many bacteria and bugs. This is what often causes contamination, which can affect our health negatively. So, keep in mind to cover especially the things that we eat. It is also better to store raw food properly, not on our tables but inside refrigerator or other food-friendly storage containers.
Your Child’s Toys
Your Children’s toys are also a good example of things which end up everywhere and anywhere. This means that they are prone to germs which your children catch as they play. You don’t want these to come near your food, so better start teaching them not to put their toys on the dining table.
Computer, Gadgets and Other Things You Use for Work
It’s understandable that you may not have a home office, and you probably turned your dining table as your makeshift work desk. While it’s okay, don’t forget to put your office stuff and other supplies away at the end of each day. By doing this, you are doing yourself a favor by getting rid of things that shouldn’t be left on your dining table.
